Meet Chris Anderson creator of “Curby’s Closet.”

This is pretty much what I’m all about… I am a gal that has always loved to create, sew or craft things. Sometimes ideas will just pop into my head or come to me in the middle of the night. (Sometimes I love it when that happens and sometimes it drives me crazy!) But usually, I find it very rewarding to make gifts for family and friends or to use these ideas to decorate my home or design table scapes. I also love collecting dolls, tea sets, vintage quilts and birdhouses. It is through this love of creating and collecting that helped me started my own business “Curby’s Closet.”

Since I have collected baby dolls and Barbie’s as a little girl and have kept most all of them. I began loving the vintage clothes to put on them. I found that I am quite an old fashion/ trash to treasure kind of gal! I got a lot of pleasure from restoring, refurbishing or reusing these precious little baby clothes and began to sell them on Ebay. Many of my customers, friends and family love dressing their babies or dolls in these vintage baby clothes and so my little business took off.

Many of my customers requested shoes to go with the vintage baby dresses and so I designed the “Curby’s Closet quilted baby shoes and sold them on Etsy. They were pretty successful and so a friend encouraged me to make my own patterns and sell them in quilt shops and at quilt shows. Even though I had never attempted anything like that before, with the help of my sister I wrote my first baby shoe pattern. Today my baby shoe patterns are sold in over a hundred quilt shops all over the U.S. Canada, Australia and South Africa.

We are now introducing Toddler purses called “Bug Bags” and they are sold in our Etsy shop and my website and soon we will have the “Bug Bag” patterns for purchase also.

Look for other patterns and designs in 2011. Because you just never know what you will find inside Curby’s Closet!

Best wishes and happy quilting!
